WFSS 91.9 FMLicensed to the Board of Trustees of Fayetteville State University, a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina, WFSS has come a long way since it first went on the air at 10 watts with an all student staff in 1977. Since then, growth and change have brought improvements in sound, program quality and coverage area. In 1983, WFSS began broadcasting at 100,000 watts and, more recently, changed its frequency to 91.9FM. Currently, the signal is available to hundreds of thousands of radio fans in more than two dozen counties in North Carolina, as well as streaming on line.
