 Every year around this time we pause to participate in the grand tradition listeners know as the Public Radio Fund Drive.  WFSS survives because of the generosity of listeners who pledge their support during seasonal fund drives.

 Your support makes possible such favorites as Morning Edition, Car Talk, All Things Considered and Tell Me More, programming from  National Public Radio (NPR) that keeps you abreast of what is happening in the world around you.  We also produce other programs that enrich your lives, such as Community Health, Arts Connection and Chat with the Chamber, not to mention the various interviews with area leaders that provide information about important issues affecting our community.  In addition, your contribution funds the many music programs that are produced in our studios. So much depth and culture is added to your life with the jazz, blues, bluegrass, African and Spanish music – and more -- right here on WFSS.

We are able to do what we do because of you.  Indeed, more than half of our support comes from individuals like you -- people that give an average of about $100 for a resource that serves them and their community.  That is why we are asking you to help us keep bringing high-quality radio into your car, your kitchen, your office …wherever you enjoy listening.  And while you are supporting a service you count on, you can also have the satisfaction of knowing that you are doing something for others, including those who might not be able to make a donation themselves.

So please support us today by giving a generous contribution of $50, $100, $500, $1,000 or whatever is right for you.  We will use your contribution to support the radio programs you count on.  During this fund drive, as an added benefit, your contribution will automatically register you for the ALL THAT JAZZ GETAWAY drawing. The prize package features admission to the David Sandborn and John Pizzarelli concerts, accommodations at the legendary Grove Park Inn Resort in Asheville, NC, and admission to all the weekend’s events, including the Meet the Artists’ receptions.  The winner will also tour the Biltmore Estate and Winery, the Asheville Art Museum, the North Carolina Arboretum, and dine at the popular farm-to-table restaurant, Tupelo Honey Café.
