WFSS Sales Representative
Job
Title: Corporate Support/Underwriting
Representative
Department: Development
Reports To: Director of Development
Summary: The Sales Representative is responsible for assisting
in achieving underwriting revenue goals through his/her own direct sales
and through participation in the implementation of the station’s overall
underwriting strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Personal
Sales
o
Meet or exceed your individual sales goal on a monthly
basis.
o
Build and maintain strong relationships with current
accounts.
o
Develop new business.
o
Sell in a way that is consistent with WFSS’s standards and
mission/values.
Station Relationship
o
Build and maintain a positive working relationship between
underwriting department and other station departments.
o
Meet all FCC guidelines.
o
Represent the station in a manner that meets with the
station's market image.
o
Follow station guidelines regarding:
q
Copy approval
q
Copy and traffic deadlines
q
Account receivables and collections
o
Participate in station activities, meetings, events, and
pledge drives when possible

Skills
and Abilities:
Knowledge of local/regional market including decision makers, local
events and key accounts.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate
figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to
apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Language
Skills: Ability
to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental
regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and
procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and
respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and
the general public.

Reasoning
Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written,
oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer
Skills: To
perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of
word processing, spreadsheet and account management software. Ability to
work with a variety of windows based software programs.

Education
and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree from
four-year college or university; and four years sales experience and/or
training (preferred); or equivalent combination of education and
experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Current driver's license
